BIO
A graduate from the Royal Veterinary College in London and Oklahoma State University, I have experience in veterinary nursing, chemical immobilization, wildlife rehabilitation, and post-mortem investigations with animals in Africa, Australia, Europe, North America, and marine mammals. My primary research interests are in disease ecology and the effects of anthropogenic activities on wildlife, such as diet choice, behavior modifications, and disease dynamics. Additionally, I have experience in botanical research, acute toxicology, and stress responses in a variety of plant and animal subjects. In my free time, I enjoy backpacking, hiking, and birding, as well as equestrianism, sailing, and wildlife photography. Under my role as Director of Wildlife Rehabilitation, I am in the process of developing a multifaceted research program with WildCare Oklahoma, investigating areas such as disease surveillance, post-release survival, and overall health measures. Additionally, I am working towards my Master of Public Health through Oklahoma State University to improve my understanding of the larger implications of disease ecology and health metrics under the One Health Initiative. In addition to my full time roles, I am a Course Instructor for the International Wildlife Rehabilitator's Council, Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Chapter of the Wildlife Society, and the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors for TriCord Ranch Foundation.
